THE SPEECH LEVEL SINGING TECHNIQUE
Speech Level Singing (SLS)
Is the world’s most renowned singing technique. It was developed to handle the fierce demands placed on the world’s top performers, performing multiple shows per day, day after day. It is the number one method for singers wishing to learn how to sing or improve their voice.
SLS is the Technique of the Legends. Today the technique is used by over 135 Grammy and Tony award winners,
How does it work?
The larynx, the bump in the middle of the neck, which rises up during the swallowing process, is home to the vocal cords. A raised larynx will result in tension, distortion of the words, and disconnection of the voice.
Speech Level Singing (SLS) enables the singer to sing with a resting larynx, eliminating the outer muscle activity to sing through the entire vocal range.
The SLS technique trains the voice to blend through the bridges by balancing the flow of air and muscle. Allows the singer to sing comfortably in the upper and lower range with more agility, pitch control and stamina.
SLS can be applied to any style or genre of music.
You learn this technique to keep an even sound so you can pass through the bridges in your voice, smoothing over and eliminating any “breaks” in your voice.
Learning SLS leads you to a new way of singing.
The exercises painlessly train your vocal folds to automatically work in a more efficient and effective manner.
You also learn technique to increase your vocal range.
The end result is a longer and stronger vocal range without stress or strain.
